"I came to Hong Kong in June, 2005 for a summer teaching program, only planning to stay for two months. As I began to discover the city, meet people, and learn about the culture, I toyed with the idea of staying on for the year. Could I make it in Hong Kong? Could I start a life here? The Chatteris program gave me the opportunity to live in Hong Kong and integrate into the society in a meaningful way. In teaching, you give so much of yourself – your time, creative energy, enthusiasm – but you get even more in return. The relationships I have developed with students and teachers at North Point Methodist Primary School and my warm acceptance into the school community has made my experience so far greatly exceed my expectations.
